Fireworks

Gloucestershire Cricket Club

I photographed this fireworks display at Bishop Road School, capturing both the atmosphere on the ground and the show from above. It was one of my first times shooting fireworks, which made it a great chance to learn and experiment with timing, exposure, and movement in low light. I used my Canon R6 Mark II with a 24–70mm lens to get a mix of wide and tighter shots, and flew my DJI Mini 3 Pro at the same time to record some aerial videos. Their fireworks show was amazing, and I’d definitely recommend going to watch if you get the chance

Bishop Road School

A week later i was invited back to take some more pictures at Bishop Road school. By this point I felt a lot more confident with my camera settings and timing, so I was able to experiment even more with long exposures and movement to really capture the trails of light. I used my Canon R6 with the 24-70mm lens again, mixing wide shots of the crowd and close-ups of the explosions, while also flying my DJI Mini 3 Pro to get aerial perspectives of the stadium. The atmosphere was incredible, with the fireworks reflecting over the pitch and stands, and it was a great opportunity to push my photography further now that I knew what to expect from the show.
